| Personal | Maxime Dougados is Professor of Rheumatology at the René Descartes University-Paris 5 and Cochin Hospital in Paris, France. Within his research group, there are 6 fellows per year, who train in clinical epidemiology. |
| Interests | The focus of Professor Dougados’ clinical practice is rheumatoid arthritis (RA), osteoarthritis (OA), spondylarthropathies and osteoporosis. He is particularly currently involved in 2 ongoing national cohorts of patients suffering from either early synovitis (ESPOIR cohort) or inflammatory back pain (DESIR cohort). His particular clinical interest is in clinical epidemiology. Research in his department focuses on outcome measures in musculoskeletal disorders. |

Evaluation of several ultrasonography scoring systems of synovitis and comparison to clinical examination: Results from a prospective multi-center study of rheumatoid arthritis.
