  Prof. Francis Berenbaum
Personal Francis Berenbaum is Head of the Department of Rheumatology at Pierre & Marie Curie University, APHP  Hôpital Saint-Antoine in Paris, France. Within his research group, there are 4 scientific fellows per year, with numerous fellows within the clinical department.
Interests The focus of Professor Berenbaum’s clinical practice is a multidisciplinary approach to hand osteoarthritis (OA). His focus in basic and translational research has been to investigate the role of mechanical stress, cytokines and growth factors on the release of pro-inflammatory and pro-degradative mediators in chondrocytes and cartilage explants. He his investigating the communication bone-cartilage in OA.
